Country Road 177
Challenge
This residence presented a unique set of challenges that required meticulous planning and innovative problem-solving. Situated in a remote location, the project demanded careful coordination to ensure materials and crews arrived on-site without delays. The natural slope of the yard added structural complexity, as the design had to address this incline while maintaining a seamless connection to the landscape. Additionally, the client’s vision for a modern design needed to harmonize with the architectural character of their home, requiring a thoughtful approach to aesthetics and functionality.
Solution
To tackle the challenges of the remote location, we implemented a comprehensive logistics plan that synchronized material deliveries with crew schedules, ensuring steady progress and avoiding downtime. For the sloping yard, we opted for a wood deck, which provided both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality by eliminating the need for costly retaining walls. This choice allowed us to address the slope efficiently while adding warmth and organic contrast to the sleek, modern design.
The centerpiece of the project was a perimeter overflow pool, designed to create a mirror-like effect that visually integrates the outdoor space with the surrounding landscape. The pool’s sleek, contemporary lines complemented the home’s architecture while maintaining a serene, natural ambiance. By combining the wood deck with the pool design, we successfully balanced the client’s modern aesthetic with the property’s natural elements.
The final result is a stunning outdoor living space that reflects the client’s vision while solving the logistical and structural challenges of the remote location and sloped terrain. This project showcases the power of thoughtful planning and creative design in transforming a challenging site into an elegant, functional retreat.
