Challenge

Faced with a constrained backyard and numerous windows overlooking the pool area, our client envisioned an Asian Zen garden oasis. We meticulously planned each wood element and joint in our construction office to ensure a harmonious installation without any odd cuts or half pieces.

Solution

We elevated corten steel bamboo planters to enhance privacy and embrace the Zen aesthetic, shielding the space from neighboring second-story windows. We employed Azek synthetic wood decking to gracefully cantilever over the pool edge, creating a serene spa-like ambiance with the playful illusion of the deck dipping into the water. A handmade Italian tile tanning ledge was introduced, adding a splash of color and tranquility to the water, perfectly capturing the essence of a tranquil, Zen-inspired retreat.
