Turtle Creek Blvd
Challenge
This property required a mix of remodeling and new construction to completely transform its outdoor spaces. This comprehensive project addressed significant structural and design challenges while enhancing the property's functionality and aesthetic appeal. Every element, from the driveway to the backyard, was meticulously planned and executed to create a cohesive and luxurious outdoor environment.
The property presented several complex challenges. The existing driveway was cracked and poorly draining, creating persistent issues that diminished both functionality and curb appeal. The retaining wall near the pool deck was structurally unsound, built with only veneer stone, and needed to be reconstructed for stability. A steep 15-foot slope down to Turtle Creek made the side yard unusable and disconnected it from the rest of the property. Additionally, achieving a cohesive design that seamlessly blended with the home’s architecture required careful attention to detail and integration across all features.
Solution
To address these challenges, we executed a series of innovative solutions. The old driveway was replaced with a smooth trowel architectural concrete deck accented by concrete pavers. Elegant stone columns and a custom entry gate framed the entrance, enhancing both functionality and visual appeal. All existing sidewalks and pool decks were replaced with a beautiful irregular stone-patterned blue deck, harmonizing with the updated pool area. The failing retaining wall was reconstructed with proper structural reinforcements and finished to blend seamlessly with the pool deck design. The swimming pool itself received a complete refresh, including new stone, tile, and plaster, restoring its usability and elegance.
The steep side yard was transformed into a usable outdoor space through the construction of retaining walls that leveled the area. This newly created space included a stunning cabana clad in Neolith, featuring an outdoor kitchen with a sink, grill, ice machine, fridge, and storage. The cabana also included a matching Neolith fireplace, custom synthetic wood decking, and hidden stairs leading to a 500-square-foot putting green near Turtle Creek. Amenities like electronic bug screens, heaters, fans, and dimmable lighting ensured the cabana could be enjoyed year-round. Landscaping enhancements across the property completed the transformation, blending seamlessly with the existing architecture to create a timeless and polished outdoor retreat.
The property is now a functional and luxurious outdoor space that resolves all previous issues while elevating the home's overall aesthetic. Every element reflects meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a design that integrates beautifully with the property’s architecture.
