GLACIER POINT
Challenge: Could we makeover this backyard and turn it into the home’s outdoor “party place?”
Solved: This lovely backyard relies on a masterful orchestration of tile, stone, concrete, metal, and IPE wood decking to introduce energy and visual interest.
Deft layering of these varied textures was used to achieve each island of seating, creating several independent spaces within the larger backyard where clusters of friends and family can socialize.
The pool itself employs a minimalist zig-zag footprint to seamlessly meld the architectural and landscape elements that include a long, linear fire pit and modern grilling area.
Blessed with a greenbelt that backdrops the away side of the pool, the property enjoys a sense of intrinsic privacy and the tanning ledge and adjacent relaxation spaces beneath the rustling trees complete the relaxed atmosphere with a background chorus of natural “white sound.”
