Challenge: Turn an exceptionally narrow “problem” backyard into a showpiece that brilliantly celebrates the compact space with a fantastic design.
Solved: From the instant visitors enter the front door, the home’s broad windows provide a commanding view of the back yard’s visually arresting orchestration of textures, colors, and surfaces.
Dramatically bracketed front and rear, the pool features a waterfall that continuously cascades across the full width of its acrylic front wall, disappearing into smooth river rock.
A wall of fire backdrops the entire width of the elevated, stadium-style rear edge adding dimension and drama.
A raised spa area off to one side provides another great visual seen from the kitchen and dining area.
We limited the use of concrete and stone in favor of extensive composite wood decking complementing fantastic plays of color variation in the blue and green glass tile. Easy-to-maintain turf braces the side of the pool deck seating areas ensuring that this landscape will maintain its beauty for years to come.
